Snapchat has reported that its user base in India has exceeded 250 million monthly active users, according to an announcement made on August 18, 2025. The company attributes this growth to a strong connection with younger users across the country, positioning India as one of Snapchat’s fastest-growing global markets.

Snapchat stated that it is leveraging the growing digital landscape in India by focusing on local content initiatives and partnerships. The platform is also prioritizing regional creators through its Spotlight and Stories features.

The company outlined its future plans for India, which include building a sustainable business by expanding and nurturing its user community, enhancing trust with advertisers by demonstrating business value, supporting storytelling through Spotlight and Stories, and developing a robust augmented reality (AR) developer ecosystem.

“Snap’s vision in India is to build a sustainable business by growing and nurturing its community, strengthening trust with advertisers by delivering business value, supporting vibrant storytelling via Spotlight and Stories, and fostering a thriving AR developer ecosystem,” the company said in its statement.
