Since its launch in 2016, Snapchat’s Memories feature has allowed users to save more than one trillion memories. The company announced that it is introducing new Memories Storage Plans to accommodate users who have saved more than 5GB of content.
“For the vast majority of Snapchatters, who have less than 5GB of Memories, nothing will change. For Snapchatters with more than 5GB of Memories, meaning thousands of Snaps, we are rolling out new options to upgrade and increase storage. The introductory Memories Storage Plans offer 100GB, 250GB with Snapchat+, or 5TB with Snapchat Platinum,” the company stated.
Snapchat clarified that users exceeding the free 5GB limit will receive 12 months of temporary storage for any additional memories over this threshold. Users can choose to upgrade their storage plan at any time or download their memories directly to their devices.
The new plans aim to ensure long-term access and preservation for users who store large numbers of snaps on the platform.
