Snap Inc. announced on Apr. 23 the launch of Place Loyalty, a new feature on Snap Map that highlights users’ most frequently visited locations over the past year.

The company said this update allows Snapchatters to see when they are among the top 25% of visitors to a particular place, such as coffee shops, restaurants, or airports. Users who achieve this status will be able to view their ranking and receive tiered recognition like Gold or Silver levels.

When exploring Snap Map, users may notice a “Top Visitor” badge displayed directly on certain locations. By tapping on this badge, they can access more details about their loyalty status and obtain a shareable sticker reflecting their achievement. For brands and chains with multiple locations, visits are aggregated across all sites so users’ total visits contribute toward their overall ranking.

According to Snap Inc., Snap Map now has more than 435 million monthly active users who use it to connect with friends and discover local spots. The company said that features like Place Loyalty build upon how people already use the map daily.

The introduction of Place Loyalty reflects ongoing efforts by Snap Inc. to enhance user engagement by making digital maps more interactive and personalized.
