The San Bernardino County Transportation Authority has chosen Beador Construction Co., Inc. to handle the next stage of improvements on Interstate 10 at Mount Vernon Avenue. The board of directors made the selection after a competitive bidding process that included two other companies. The contract with Beador Construction is capped at $60.3 million.

Earlier work on the project involved rebuilding the Mt. Vernon Avenue Bridge, which was finished in August. Funding for this infrastructure effort comes from Measure I, a local half-cent sales tax, as well as development impact fees collected by Colton.

According to a statement on the county’s website, “The authority’s board of directors recently awarded a contract to Beador Construction Co., Inc. in Costa Mesa.”
