Riverside and Moreno Valley have been recognized among the top 50 “green fleets” in North America for 2025. The NAFA Fleet Management Association, a nonprofit trade association based in Boston that serves managers of public and private vehicle fleets, ranked Riverside at 27th and Moreno Valley at 47th.

The award highlights agencies that excel in electrification, emissions reduction, and clean fleet technologies. The ranking evaluates overall sustainability efforts rather than focusing solely on the number of electric vehicles within a fleet.

Moreno Valley achieved this recognition for the first time and was also designated as a notable fleet in NAFA’s government fleet category.

“Greener really is greater,” said Mayor Ulises Cabrera in the statement. “This recognition reflects our commitment to cleaner air, and healthier neighborhoods, that makes life better for every resident.”

Other California entities included on the list were Santa Clara County (2), UC Irvine (3), Sacramento County (9), UCLA (14), San Diego (15), Sacramento (21), Ventura County (31), Alameda County (34), and Fairfield (50).
