Ring has announced a new lineup of home security cameras and doorbells featuring its first 4K video capability and advanced artificial intelligence features. The company says these devices are designed to improve video clarity and provide smarter monitoring for users.
The new products include the Wired Doorbell Pro, Spotlight Cam Pro, Floodlight Cam Pro, Outdoor Cam Pro, as well as Power over Ethernet versions of some models. Ring’s Retinal Vision technology powers these devices, aiming to deliver sharper images and better low-light performance. According to Ring, the 4K cameras offer 10x zoom and enhanced imaging that allows users to see details more clearly in various conditions.
“Retinal Vision doesn’t just capture video; it optimizes every step of the imaging process with advanced AI tuning. It’s not just about sharper video—it’s about unlocking a new level of intelligence, where every feature becomes more effective because the foundation is crisper and closer to reality,” said Ring in its announcement.
A key addition is Alexa+ Greetings, which turns Alexa into an automated door attendant capable of interacting with visitors. “If a solicitor stops by, now Alexa+ can do the talking for you and ask the purpose of their visit. It can also manage deliveries, provide instructions, and even identify the purpose of a visit—all while keeping you informed,” according to Ring.
Another feature called Familiar Faces uses AI to recognize known individuals at the door or on camera feeds. This allows customers to reduce unnecessary notifications triggered by routine activities involving people they know. The system adds personalized context to notifications and recorded events within the Ring app.
Ring also introduced Search Party for dogs—a community-based tool that leverages outdoor cameras equipped with AI to help locate lost pets reported in the neighborhood. When someone reports a missing dog in the app, nearby camera owners can participate in a search powered by image recognition technology. The app shows potential matches from recent footage so neighbors can assist each other in finding lost pets while maintaining privacy controls over shared information.
Ring states that over one million posts about lost or found pets were made in its Neighbors app last year.
The new Retinal 2K Vision technology is available on Indoor Cam Plus and Wired Doorbell Plus models as well. These updates reflect Ring’s ongoing efforts to enhance home security through improved hardware and software solutions.
