Prime Video offers ‘Spinal Tap’ films including new sequel available for rent or purchase

Prepare to turn up the volume as Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, the sequel to Rob Reiner’s 1984 mockumentary, is set for release. The new film brings back Michael McKean, Christopher Guest, and Harry Shearer as members of the fictional rock band Spinal Tap. The story follows the band reuniting after 15 years for a final show. Rob Reiner also returns as director and reprises his role as documentarian Marty DiBergi. The cast includes appearances from Stormy Daniels, Questlove, Chad Smith, Lars Ulrich, among others.

Spinal Tap II: The End Continues will be available on Prime Video starting Tuesday, September 30. Customers can rent it for $19.99 or buy it for $24.99. Preorders are currently open. Rentals provide viewers with 30 days to start watching and 48 hours to finish once started. Access to this title does not require a Prime membership; anyone can rent or purchase films through the Prime Video store.

The original film, This Is Spinal Tap, is also offered on Prime Video at $5.99 for rental and $14.99 for purchase. It features filmmaker Marty DiBergi documenting Spinal Tap’s U.S. tour and highlights several mishaps faced by the band during their attempt to maintain relevance.

Prime Video continues to add new titles in October including Play Dirty and Hazbin Hotel along with other films, series, sports events, and fresh episodes each month.
