Amazon has announced its lineup of new content coming to Prime Video in October. The streaming service will feature a range of original films, documentaries, and series, as well as live sports broadcasts.

Among the highlights is “Play Dirty,” an action thriller directed by Shane Black that premieres on October 1. The film stars Mark Wahlberg as an expert thief who, along with his crew played by LaKeith Stanfield and Rosa Salazar, finds himself up against the New York mob.

On October 8, the romantic comedy “Maintenance Required” debuts. Directed by Lacey Uhlemeyer, it follows Charlie (Madelaine Petsch), the owner of an all-female mechanic shop, as she faces competition from a new corporate rival.

Sports fans will have access to live NBA games starting October 24, including matchups such as Boston Celtics vs. New York Knicks and Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Los Angeles Lakers. National Women’s Soccer League matches and Thursday Night Football games are also scheduled throughout the month.

Documentaries featured this month include “Saquon,” which premieres October 9 and chronicles Saquon Barkley’s journey with the Philadelphia Eagles. Executive produced by Martin Scorsese, it covers Barkley’s experiences with injury and contract negotiations in his NFL career. On October 10, “John Candy: I Like Me” offers a look at the life of comedian John Candy through archival footage and interviews with figures like Dan Aykroyd and Steve Martin.

The final installment of the Culpa trilogy, “Culpa Nuestra,” arrives on October 16. It centers on Noah (Nicole Wallace) and Nick (Gabriel Guevara) reuniting after their breakup but facing unresolved issues.

For younger audiences, “The Chosen Adventures” launches on October 17. The series follows Abby and her friend Joshua in ancient Capernaum as they meet Jesus of Nazareth.

Other notable releases include “Harlan Coben’s Lazarus” (October 22), a thriller about Joel Lazarus dealing with mysterious events after his father’s death; “Allen Iv3rson” (October 23), a docuseries about basketball player Allen Iverson; and “Hazbin Hotel” (October 29), an animated series following Charlie, princess of Hell.

“Hedda,” premiering October 29 from Nia DaCosta, reimagines Henrik Ibsen’s play with Tessa Thompson in the lead role. On October 31, two international series debut: “Dime tu nombre,” set in a Spanish village grappling with cultural tensions; and “Tremembé,” a Brazilian miniseries exploring life inside a notorious penitentiary complex.

Prime Video will also add several classic films to its library in October, including multiple James Bond titles such as “Casino Royale,” “Dr. No,” and “Skyfall.” Other additions include movies like “Erin Brockovich,” “Braveheart,” and “The Breakfast Club.”

Prime members can continue to watch award-winning shows such as “The Boys” and “Étoile,” both recognized at this year’s Emmy Awards.

Live sports offerings for Prime members include NBA games beginning on October 24 between teams like the Boston Celtics and New York Knicks, NWSL soccer matches starting October 3 featuring Houston Dash versus Orlando Pride, ONE Championship fights on select dates, Seattle Kraken NHL games throughout the month of October, and Thursday Night Football matchups each week.

Episodes from ongoing series such as “Gen V” will also be available during the month.
