Downtown Palm Springs offers a blend of modern art, retro shopping, and dining options that reflect the city’s unique style. The Palm Springs Art Museum is a four-level venue featuring works by artists such as Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall, and Ansel Adams. The museum also includes Native American galleries with over 2,000 artifacts and the Annenberg Theater for live performances.

The Shag Store highlights the colorful work of illustrator Josh Agle and sells items like tiki mugs and martini shakers in a gallery setting. Birba provides outdoor dining on its tree-shaded patio, serving cocktails like the Heated Snake along with salads, pizzas, and braised meats.

Just Fabulous offers an eclectic selection curated by owner Stephen Monkarsh, including wall art, fashion books, magnets, clocks made by local craftsmen, and access to hidden gardens behind the store. Ernest Coffee + Bootlegger Tiki combines a daytime coffee bar with an evening speakeasy serving rum cocktails during daily happy hours.

Trina Turk’s boutique showcases desert-inspired fashion in bold colors beneath crystal chandeliers. Dazzles focuses on midcentury items such as Lucite jewelry, vintage glassware, gold-plated serving dishes by Georges Briard, and costume brooches.
