The International Labor Communications Association (ILCA) will host its biennial convention in New Orleans from November 18 to 20, 2025. The event will feature community service activities, networking receptions, the ILCA awards ceremony, and a series of panels and workshops. The theme for this year’s convention has not yet been announced.

The ILCA is an organization that supports labor communicators across North America and is affiliated with the AFL-CIO. DeLane Adams, Assistant Communications Director at IAM Union, serves as Secretary-Treasurer for the ILCA.

IAM Communications Department members have received recognition over the years during the ILCA Labor Media Awards Contest. This contest is known as the largest and longest-running competition in labor communications, highlighting outstanding work in the field.

This year’s IAM Union winners include Angela Colaizzi, who received the Max Steinbock Award for “NLRB Takes Down Union Buster.” Ashley Mumford and the IAM Journal Team earned third place for Best Print Publication with their Summer 2023 issue of IAM Journal. Ross Olson was awarded third place for Best Design – Single Issue Publication.

Past conventions have provided opportunities for labor communications professionals to share best practices with colleagues from across North America.

Registration for the ILCA Convention is open to all interested participants; membership is not required to attend.
