The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) encouraged all its districts and locals on Apr. 9 to identify members interested in attending the 2026 Pride at Work Convention, scheduled for June 2-4, 2026, in Minneapolis.
The union said that supporting the event aligns with efforts to promote diversity and inclusion within its membership. The convention is organized by Pride at Work, an AFL-CIO constituency group focused on advancing equality for LGBTQIA+ workers across workplaces, unions, and communities.
According to IAM leadership, “Pride at Work’s mission reflects what we stand for as a union: building a labor movement that cherishes diversity, promotes inclusion and ensures safety and dignity for all.” The message also highlighted the importance of opposing discrimination and strengthening solidarity among members.
IAM stated that this initiative complements ongoing work such as expanding Human Rights Committees throughout its organization. These committees aim to ensure all workers are welcomed, respected, and included within the union.
Credentialing for the convention will begin June 1 at the Marquette Hotel in Minneapolis. Members were advised to make hotel reservations by May 1 due to limited room availability. Early registration discounts end April 19. For more information or questions about participation, members are encouraged to contact IAM Human Rights Director Nicole Fears via email.
