Hemet has announced the launch of a new grant program aimed at supporting small businesses in the city. The Entrepreneur & Small Business Community Development Block Grant Program will use federal funding to promote economic growth, according to information on the city’s website.

The initiative offers approved businesses up to $20,000 and is intended both for start-ups and for helping existing local companies expand. The program’s primary focus areas are kitchen start-ups such as restaurants, cafés, bakeries, and catering services—where funds may be used for lease improvements or equipment purchases; tech start-ups in sectors like technology, manufacturing, aerospace, and semiconductors—which can apply grants toward equipment or infrastructure; and professional business start-ups including consulting, technical IT support, legal or business services—with grants available for professional equipment and working capital.

Applications are being accepted until February 5. More details about the application process are available on the city’s website at www.hemetca.gov/1356/Entrepreneur-Small-Business-Grant.
