The Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival began its 25th edition on April 10 in Indio, drawing an estimated crowd of 250,000 people to the Empire Polo Club for the two-weekend event running through April 19.

The festival is significant for both fans and the local economy. Both weekends are sold out, but organizers have arranged for live streaming of performances on YouTube to reach a wider audience. Headliners this year include Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, and Karol G.

Reports indicate that nearly 45 percent of attendees at this year’s festival are expected to be first-timers. The event attracts over 125,000 visitors each day.

In addition to entertainment, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has a notable economic impact. Together with the Stagecoach festival later in April, it generates between $600 million and $700 million in economic activity annually. The festivals support thousands of jobs and contribute about $20 million in local tax revenue each year.

With high attendance numbers and global streaming access, organizers expect continued interest throughout both weekends as fans gather to experience music and art from around the world.
