The U.S. Census Bureau announced on April 9 the release of a downloadable file with estimates of the nation’s resident population by single year of age and sex as of July 1, 2025.
These new figures provide detailed demographic data that can be used by policymakers, researchers, and the public to better understand trends in the United States population. Such information is often important for planning in areas like education, healthcare, and social services.
According to the Census Bureau, additional releases are planned over the coming months. These will include housing unit estimates for the nation, states, and counties; as well as population estimates for cities and towns. Future updates will also offer breakdowns by age, sex, race, and Hispanic origin at various geographic levels including states, metropolitan areas, micropolitan areas, counties, Puerto Rico Commonwealth and its municipios.
No news release was issued alongside this product; instead it was made available through a tip sheet.
These ongoing updates are part of regular efforts to keep demographic data current between decennial censuses.
