California schedules diverse festivals and cultural events statewide for summer of 2025

California will host a variety of events throughout June 2025, offering activities that range from film festivals and music concerts to cultural celebrations and food fairs.

California State Parks Week will take place from June 11 to 15, with special programs held at parks across the state. Early summer also brings harvest events, such as sunflower viewing in Yolo County and fruit stands along Fresno County’s Fruit Trail. Pride Month celebrations are scheduled in several cities: Los Angeles (June 8), Sacramento (June 14–15), and San Francisco (June 28–29).

The Mendocino Film Festival runs May 29 to June 1, featuring more than 60 films including the documentary “Neil Young: Coastal” and the Oscar-winning “No Other Land.” Most screenings will be held in Mendocino Village, with an additional venue in Fort Bragg.

Monsterpalooza is set for May 30 to June 1 in Pasadena, highlighting horror movie culture with exhibits, makeup demonstrations, and appearances by actors such as Jason Patric, Selma Blair, David Arquette, and Rose McGowan.

Sonoma County Pride kicks off May 30 through June 1 with a parade in Santa Rosa on May 31 and the “Ruby Ripple” Pool Party at Graton Resort & Casino on June 1. Carmel Culinary Week takes place from May 30 to June 7 in Carmel-by-the-Sea, featuring restaurant specials and food-themed events.

The San Mateo County Fair is scheduled for May 30 to June 8 with themed days like Asian Culture Day (June 1) and Family Pride Day (June 6). Greater Palm Springs Restaurant Week also runs from May 30 to June 8 at multiple locations; each reservation made during this period results in a $1 donation to FIND Food Bank.

West Hollywood’s Outloud Music Festival occurs May 31 to June 1 with performances by Lizzo, Remi Wolf, and Paris Hilton. The Downtown Burbank Arts Festival happens over the same weekend on San Fernando Blvd., offering art displays and local crafts.

Wine enthusiasts can attend L.A. WineFest on May 31–June 1 at Harry Bridges Memorial Park in Long Beach. For those interested in beer festivals, the Los Angeles Independent Beer Festival returns on June 14 at ShoreLine Aquatic Park.

Berkeley’s Bay Area Book Festival is planned for May 31–June 1 with speakers including Roxane Gay and Viet Thanh Nguyen. In Orange County, Tustin hosts its annual Street Fair & Chili Cook-Off on June 1.

Barnsdall Park Friday Night Wine Tastings begin June 6 at Hollyhock House in Los Angeles; proceeds benefit park programs. Modesto’s American Graffiti Festival runs from June 6–8 celebrating vintage cars inspired by George Lucas’ film.

Other notable events include:
– Big Time Logging Jamboree (Chester) on June 7
– Watermelon Festival (Lakeview Terrace) on June 7–8
– Fishin’ For $50K Trout Tournament (Big Bear Lake) on June 7–8
– WSL Lexus Trestles Pro surfing event (San Onofre) from June 9–17
– National Shopping Day festivities at various outlet malls across California from June 12–15

Music fans can attend Healdsburg Jazz Festival from June 13–22 or Solvang Music in the Park starting on select dates after June 18. Several county fairs take place later in the month including Conejo Valley Days (Thousand Oaks), Petaluma Fair (Petaluma), and Woodies on the Wharf car show (Santa Cruz).

– Summer Solstice Parade & Festival (Santa Barbara) from June 20–22
– Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival from June 20–22
– Taste of Sonoma wine event on June 21
– Palm Springs International Short Fest running from June 24–30

Food-focused gatherings include Relish: A Food, Wine & Spirits Experience hosted by chef Jamie Gwen alongside Tyler Florence, Scott Conant, and Gale Gand at VEA Newport Beach between June 27–29. Country music festival Santa Rosa Country Summer returns to Sonoma County Fairgrounds during these same dates.

Juneteenth is marked by Black Miners Bar Juneteenth Festival at Folsom Lake Recreation Area on June 28. Outdoor activities round out the month with Truckee Dirt Fondo cycling race near Tahoe National Forest and Pier 360 Beach Festival along Santa Monica Pier both taking place toward month’s end.
