The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) has announced its next Voting Meeting will take place on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 11 a.m. The meeting will be held at the CalEPA Coastal Hearing Room in Sacramento, with options for the public to participate either in person or remotely via webcast and phone.

According to the CPUC, these Voting Meetings are where decisions are made regarding essential services such as energy, water, communications, and transportation that impact residents across California. Each session begins with a period for public comment. The commission encourages participation from all interested parties regardless of whether they attend in person or call in remotely.

The agenda for this meeting includes several key items. Among them is a proposal to open a new interconnection rulemaking (Item 39). This proceeding aims to refine how distributed energy resources connect to the grid. The objective is to improve safety, reliability, transparency, and cost efficiency as clean energy technologies continue to develop.

Information about the meeting agenda, presentation materials, items being held over for future meetings, and details on remote access can be found on the CPUC’s website.

“Your input matters. We encourage everyone to participate and stay engaged in the decision-making process,” stated the CPUC.

The commission reiterated its commitment to involving consumers and stakeholders in its processes related to consumer protection and governmental affairs within sectors such as energy.
