The California Manufacturers & Technology Association (CMTA) has announced new officers for its Board of Directors. The changes highlight the organization’s ongoing focus on leadership within California’s manufacturing sector.
Joe Ahn, who serves as Senior Manager and Director of Government Relations—Advanced Development Programs at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, was elected Chair of the Board. He will complete the term previously held by Margo Parks, who has transitioned to Neurocrine Biosciences.
Stephenie Shah, Senior Director of National State Government Affairs at E. & J. Gallo Winery, was named Corporate Secretary. Adrian Guerrero, Assistant Vice President of Public Affairs West for Union Pacific Railroad, will serve as Chair of the Finance Committee.
“CMTA’s leadership continues to reflect the strength, innovation, and diversity of California manufacturing,” said Lance Hastings, CMTA President & CEO. “Joe, Stephenie, and Adrian each bring extensive experience and dedication to advancing policies that help manufacturers thrive and create opportunity across our state.”
CMTA acts as a representative body for more than 45,000 manufacturing firms in California. The association supports an industry valued at $382 billion annually.
Since its founding in 1918, CMTA has advocated for legislation and regulations that promote growth in the manufacturing sector before state lawmakers and agencies. Manufacturing accounts for about 10 percent of California’s total economic output and employs approximately 1.2 million people in the state with wages that are over $25,000 higher than those paid by other non-farm employers.
