Amazon has launched a redesigned version of its Luna cloud gaming service, offering Prime members access to more than 50 games at no extra cost. The updated platform is designed for users of all gaming backgrounds and works on devices such as Fire TV, tablets, smartphones, web browsers, and select smart TVs from LG and Samsung.
A key feature of the new Luna is GameNight, a collection of over 25 local multiplayer games intended to encourage group play in the living room. The GameNight lineup includes both exclusive titles developed by Amazon Game Studios and familiar party games adapted for easy play using smartphones as controllers. The first exclusive title, Courtroom Chaos: Starring Snoop Dogg, is described as an AI-powered improv courtroom game where players invent characters and stories before Judge Snoop Dogg.
“GameNight takes even further the idea of easy access that’s core to the new Luna, delivering a collection of incredibly fun and approachable games that absolutely shine when played together with friends and family,” said Jeff Gattis, general manager of Amazon Luna. “Anyone with a smartphone can dive right in and have a blast, regardless of their gaming abilities.”
Other GameNight offerings include Angry Birds Flock Party, Draw & Guess, The Jackbox Party Pack 9, Ticket to Ride, Exploding Kittens 2, and Clue. All are reworked for group play using mobile devices as controllers. Players can join by scanning a QR code on their TV.
“Prime members are going to love GameNight and the reimagined Luna,” said Jamil Ghani, vice president of Worldwide Prime. “Prime has always been about delivering exceptional entertainment alongside savings and convenience in a single membership, and we’re excited to make gaming more accessible for families to play together with no special device needed. The enhanced Amazon Luna is equally fun for the expert gamer or someone playing for the first time.”
Beyond GameNight titles—which use smartphones—other games on Luna require traditional controllers or keyboard-and-mouse setups. Recent additions include popular titles like Hogwarts Legacy and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
“We know that 95% of Prime households include someone who loves games, but there’s not always a straightforward path for many of them to play,” said Gattis. “Luna is purpose-built to remove the historical barriers to gaming. There’s no need to purchase costly, dedicated PC or console hardware. No downloads or installations required. And best of all, access is included within the same Prime membership enjoyed by more than 200 million paid members today.”
Luna Premium replaces the previous Luna+ subscription at $9.99 per month. It offers subscribers an expanded library including EA SPORTS FC 25, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Batman: Arkham Knight and more; existing Luna+ members will be transitioned automatically.
Currently available in markets including the U.S., UK, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Portugal, Belgium and Luxembourg; Amazon plans further expansion over time.
Prime membership continues to offer additional benefits such as free shipping on millions of items across dozens of categories through Amazon.com services (including Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods Market), free Grubhub+ delivery service (valued at $120 per year), exclusive deals like Prime Day events; access to Prime Video streaming content—including live sports—and ad-free music streaming via Amazon Music.
