Amazon is seeking an Operations Engineer for its Amazon Logistics (AMZL) Start Up Execution team. The role involves leading and managing cross-functional projects related to sortation and distribution solutions, with a focus on planning and implementing facility network infrastructure such as new builds, retrofits, expansions, and program initiatives.

Key responsibilities include working independently with internal and external teams to manage project lifecycles, participating in engineering reviews, setting project priorities, coordinating execution efforts for systems and automated equipment designs, and communicating project status to leadership. The position also requires building strong relationships with stakeholders across multiple projects and identifying process improvement initiatives.

According to Amazon, “You are a customer obsessed leader that will play an integral part in planning and implementation of the facility network infrastructure including new builds, retrofits, expansions and program initiatives. The daily work includes site coordination with operations teams and contractors, reviewing project progress, facilitating meetings with stakeholders, documenting discussions and decisions, performing quality checks on installations, troubleshooting delays or design issues, supporting other engineering team members through training on safety standards, and ensuring alignment in objectives.

Amazon describes its team culture: “At Amazon, we are all Owners and leverage unique opportunities presented to us by owning everything from firm engineering to project execution and final hand-off to our customers. We are a diverse,
upbeat, creative team of engineers and managers working on a daily basis to ensure that our internal
customers have capabilities to deliver on the Customer Promise.”

The job requires at least four years of experience in industrial or operations engineering within manufacturing environments.
