Amazon announced on Apr. 27 that it is seeking a Mechanical or Electrical Integration Lead to oversee the installation, integration, and deployment of automation and material handling systems across multiple facilities. The company said applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.

The position is intended to support Amazon’s efforts in implementing complex automation environments while ensuring safety, cost-effectiveness, and quality standards are met. The successful candidate will manage installation crews working with material handling equipment throughout North America and collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and operations teams.

Key responsibilities include leading delivery of multi-site projects, providing technical expertise for automation initiatives at assigned sites, developing technical standards and best practices, participating in technical reviews, implementing scalable solutions across facilities, recommending process improvements, maintaining documentation, achieving safety and quality metrics, managing vendor relationships, and providing input to leadership.

Applicants should have at least five years of experience as an industrial engineer or similar role in a manufacturing environment. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required. Candidates must also be willing to travel up to 50% of the time—sometimes more—and possess knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, SQL at the intermediate level. Experience with Six Sigma or lean manufacturing methodologies as well as prior management of millwrights or other mechanics is preferred.

For Los Angeles County applicants specifically: job duties require safe cooperation with others under stressful conditions; adherence to company policies; effective communication; sound judgment; professionalism; trustworthiness; safeguarding business operations; and compliance with all relevant laws. Amazon stated that criminal history may impact eligibility for some job duties but qualified applicants will be considered under the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance.

The company said it offers competitive compensation packages including sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs), health insurance benefits such as medical/dental/vision coverage plus additional wellness resources like mental health support programs.
