Amazon is seeking candidates for the position of Area Manager within its Worldwide Operations network. Area Managers are responsible for engaging their teams during shifts to meet customer expectations by delivering orders accurately and on time.

The operations workflow at Amazon includes three stages: first mile, where products are stored; middle mile, where orders are transported to local areas; and last mile, when items reach customers’ doors. Each stage may have variations depending on the building but maintains a consistent focus on customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities for Area Managers include supporting, mentoring, and motivating their teams; managing safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises; collaborating with support departments such as Safety, Ops Integration, Loss Prevention, and Human Resources; lifting up to 49 pounds; standing or walking during long shifts; working in environments with variable noise levels and temperatures; and maintaining a flexible schedule that may include weekends or overnight shifts.

Candidates should have at least two years of employee or performance management experience or a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), or two years of full-time Amazon experience. Experience with performance metrics or process improvement techniques is also preferred.
