Amazon has announced plans to launch Amazon Pharmacy kiosks at select One Medical locations across Greater Los Angeles in December 2025. The initial rollout will include areas such as Downtown L.A., West L.A., Beverly Hills, Long Beach, and West Hollywood, with future expansion planned for the Inland Empire.

According to Amazon, these new kiosks aim to bridge the gap between clinical care and pharmacy access by situating pharmacy pickup points directly inside One Medical clinics. This initiative is intended to allow patients to fill prescriptions immediately after appointments, thus eliminating an extra trip and reducing wait times for essential medications. Amazon explained that this effort represents a new model of healthcare integration that combines logistics, technology, and clinical collaboration to streamline patient experiences and outcomes.

Amazon Pharmacy’s healthcare research indicates that nearly one-third of prescriptions in the United States are never filled, and half of medications for chronic conditions are not taken as prescribed. These issues contribute to billions of dollars in preventable healthcare costs. The company believes that the Amazon Pharmacy Kiosks can address these challenges by bringing prescription services directly to the point of care. The integration with One Medical will enable patients to check out through the Amazon app, view costs and insurance copays, and collect prescriptions within minutes.

Dr. Andrew Diamond, Chief Medical Officer at One Medical, said that integrating Amazon Pharmacy services into clinical settings can have a direct impact on patient outcomes by ensuring faster access to treatment. “As clinicians, we see firsthand how delays in starting medication can impact treatment outcomes,” said Diamond. He emphasized that knowing a patient leaves the office with their medication—especially for conditions requiring immediate treatment like infections—can significantly enhance their care journey.

According to its corporate overview, Amazon is a global technology and e-commerce leader employing over 1.5 million people worldwide. Its expanding healthcare division includes Amazon Pharmacy, One Medical, and Amazon Clinic. The company’s healthcare strategy focuses on combining digital innovation with logistics infrastructure and patient-focused services to simplify healthcare access and improve affordability. With the introduction of the Amazon Pharmacy Kiosks in Los Angeles and plans for further expansion into the Inland Empire, Amazon continues its efforts to reshape healthcare delivery in the United States.
