Business Prime is a membership program offered by Amazon Business, designed to serve organizations of all sizes and industries. The program aims to help businesses save time, reduce costs, and streamline their purchasing processes. Key benefits include fast, free shipping on eligible items and access to tools such as Guided Buying and Spend Visibility dashboards, which provide insights into purchasing trends.

Amazon Business has become a significant part of Amazon’s operations, generating over $35 billion in annualized sales. The service is positioned as one of the company’s priorities and is structured to meet the needs of various business customers through tailored membership plans.

Unlike the consumer-focused Amazon Prime, Business Prime offers additional features for organizations. These include spending analytics tools that inform buying policies and support better budgeting decisions. There are five Business Prime plans available:

– Business Prime Duo: Designed for sole proprietors and small businesses who want to separate personal and work purchases. This plan is free for existing Prime members and supports one user.
– Business Prime Essentials: Suited for small business owners, this plan costs $179 per year and allows up to five users.
– Business Prime Small: Priced at $499 per year for up to 20 users, it includes more advanced tools like Guided Buying.
– Business Prime Medium: For larger teams needing detailed analytics, this plan costs $1,299 per year with access for up to 200 users.
– Business Prime Enterprise: The most comprehensive plan at $10,099 per year allows unlimited users and provides extended payment terms along with enhanced purchasing controls.

In 2024, members worldwide saved more than $750 million in shipping fees. Half of global orders—and over 70% of U.S. orders—were delivered same or next day.

To subscribe to Business Prime, companies must first create a free Amazon Business account. Even without a paid membership, these accounts offer multi-user access and business-only pricing.

Business Prime helps companies cut costs by removing shipping fees on eligible items, providing analytics that highlight spending patterns, enabling buying policies that direct employees toward preferred products or suppliers, and streamlining the overall procurement process.

“Business Prime includes the familiar shipping benefits of consumer Prime but adds business-specific features like spending analytics tools that help inform buying policies to make smarter budging decisions.”
